Jeanne M Smith – Herkimer Diamond Detective

Jeanne is a retired physical education teacher who is still on the go. With a background in teaching, Jeanne continues to share information she is passionate about. Horses have always been her primary hobby. As an example several years ago, she was intrigued to reach out to America’s Most Trusted Horseman, John Lyons. Together they created publications for teaching horses using his tried-and-true techniques. Also, she wrote articles on the subject for a number of magazines. This was an amazing experience for Jeanne. Today, she continues to share information she is passionate about and has chosen to do so with her new hobby, collecting Herkimer diamond quartz crystals.

Her goals as an enthusiast are: to inspire youth to adults to engage in this fun hobby; to support local public mines; to continue learning from experienced/seasoned prospectors; to share more information along the way; and to support local Herk entrepreneurs.
